Monica Henry
Monica Henry is a Geelong based artist who culminates her skills in design and her family history of working in wool, to create her floral textile artworks and original paintings. Monica has an Advanced Diploma of arts and continued her study at Geelong Fine Art School. She has travelled extensively through Asia, USA, Canada, and has been profoundly influenced by her time living in Japan.
Inspired by textures, fabrics, botanical nature and the movement of the threads, Monica brings these elements into her designs through rhythm and flow.
Monica loves working with both textiles and oil painting to create her unique one off pieces. They bring warmth and create a focal point to any room.
Although working in two different mediums is 'not the norm' for an artist, the theme of flowers is always at the forefront of Monica's creations. She loves that she can sometimes weave a painted element into a textile piece which makes her work cohesive.
